It has been quite the year for Josh in basketball this year. It seems like all of our whole lives have revolved around the JV team at the high school. We absoloutely love going to watch the games and some of us (mom) get so worked up about them that we get sick before each game!!!
They've definatly had their ups and downs, but the ups have been great! He has made a lot of progress in his shots and has started and played almost all of most of the games. A few of the highlights were, 4 point technical shots against a rival team, all of which he made, a last second shot at another very close game in which he got the winning point, and being part of a very fun varsity group called the "chaos". Well, actually it's called the MFC. (the Major Freakin' Chaos, or something close to that anyway!)This group of JV boys (Josh and a few of his best friends, which makes it even more fun) come in during the varsity game sometimes and mess everything up, so the other team doesn't know what's going on. They were even in a local newspaper, It's been a lot of fun!
Basketball is definatly a contact sport and a few times he's gotten hurt, bled on the floor, gotten wacked and even blacked out once or twice, but he always gets back up and keeps going. He had to come back from a trip to California so he wouldn't miss a game. He's sacrificed lots of other things to be part of this team and I've seen his character grow so much from playing. I think sports is such a great way to learn so many of life's lessons. I am so grateful he's been a part of such a great team with a whole bunch of great kids and good coaches. The things he's learned are exactly what he's needed this year He's grown a lot, his confidence is high and he feels accomplished. I never want him to feel entitled, or arrogant, but I love seeing him happy, sure of himself and busy doing something he is absoloutely passionate about!!!!
So, we have one more game, it's a biggie, it's against their biggest rival and it's at home. I am already sick to death about it, I hope they win. No, that doesn't do it justice, they HAVE GOT TO WIN!!!!!!! GO SKYHAWKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

GREAT PHOTOS OF JOSH. It has been a super fun season. I am sorry to see it end for our boys. Nick read your post over my shoulder and said, "Why does she get so nervous?" I told him about the "game-day knot" that I get between my shoulders and he laughed at us. I guess they have no idea how serious we take this.... probably more serious than they do. hahahaha WE LOVE OUR SKYHAWKS!!!
